The mandate of Western Turbo is to supply and service injection pumps, injectors, and turbochargers used in the operation of diesel equipment. The development and operation of a fully equipped service center, as well as the maintenance of an extensive parts inventory facilitate this mandate. The retail portion of the company is comprised of end users such as farmers, Hutterite colonies, truckers, marine, mining, government agencies and construction companies among others. The wholesale portion consists of Dealer outlets in various regions.
Western Turbo & Fuel Injection Ltd. was incorporated in April 1979. Currently, Western Turbo employs eighteen people functioning in parts, service, sales and administration. The company has expanded and upgraded equipment as demand has dictated.
As opportunities arose over the years, several competing local companies were purchased and incorporated into the Western Turbo. These amalgamations included personnel, equipment, and inventory. This leaves Western Turbo as the premier supply and repair facility in the area.
Western Turbo & Fuel Injection Ltd. has exclusive distribution agreements with the major fuel injection, turbocharger and diesel engine-related product manufacturers. These manufacturers include, but are not limited to: Ambac International (American Bosch), Delphi (Lucas), Zexel, Horton, Schwitzer, Holset, Air Research (Garrett), Parker (Racor), Denso (Nippondenso), Flex-a-lite and Robert Bosch. The local market area is serviced by Western Turbo and an established dealer network in the outlying areas. Western Turbo is responsible for supplying dealers with parts and administrating manufacturer programs such as warranty. The number of current dealers varies by manufacturer.
Western Turbo & Fuel Injection Ltd. has been a member of the Association of Diesel Specialists (A.D.S.) since 1979 and has participated in several annual conventions and regional meetings. These meetings focus on technical aspects of the fuel injection service business and regional issues related to the industry in general.
Western Turbo participates in the Repair Standards, Nationwide Warranty, Parts Finder, Identification Code, and Technician Certification programs sponsored by the A.D.S.
Western Turbo, as a company, maintains and guards its reputation to high technical standards. To maintain this level of commitment all service technicians receive factory training from the manufacturers, as well as updates as required. To enhance this training, the technicians also participate in the ADS (Association of Diesel Specialists) "TechCert" program.
